With the restructuring and renovations of the contents of our Website, the Torrevieja Municipal Commission of the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest has made an important step towards the modernisation and adaptation of the new technologies that the Society of Information in which we live demands of us.
It was becoming evident that more and more choral groups, as well as the press, are using our Website services. Therefore, it was decided that it should experience a change for the better, both in its use and its contents. Thus, facilitating the work for professionals and improving the general knowledge of the Contest.
With this new design as well as the function of each area of the Website, we believe that it is now a much more useful service provided by the Commission. For all the choral groups, the restricted areas directed to them will be much easier to understand as well as being able to download both the scores and the music in "midi" format. For the press, it is fundamental to have all the facilities for the downloading of high-resolution photos with the corresponding information of the contents. And at the same time, having access to all the press releases and other information that the Commission will facilitate immediately.
On the other hand, there are many other sites that one can visit just by scrolling along the menu of our Website, such as: the history of the Contest, past winners, the rules of competition, other events organised by the Commission and many more interesting facts that bring across the phenomenon of the Habaneras in Torrevieja. There is also space for the activities of the Municipal Choral School, a place for new musicians and choristers that guarantee the future, the consolidation and the quality of our Contest.
The Website includes an extensive description of our city, its tourist attractions, cultural and environmental as well as a simple hotel guide. With this, we hope to, in some measure, help future contestants of the Contest to obtain an early idea of the place where they will be competing.
We are certain that with the completion of this new Website, we have placed the information of the Contest at the same level that the history and quality of the Contest provides and that all those interested in Torrevieja and the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest deserve.
